WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING/WEAR?

During the consultation, we will discuss your styling, and once you are booked, you will receive both style and beauty/grooming prep guides to help you fine-tune your wardrobe (your wardrobe and grooming can make or break your legacy images, and we want you to love your images for life). You are more than welcome to drop your clothing by the studio a few days prior to your shoot. We will steam (as necessary) and prep everything so it’s perfect on the day of the session, and it’s one less thing for you to carry and remember!

WHAT ABOUT HAIR AND MAKEUP?

Hair and makeup is available as an add-on for any session and included in select portrait or mini sessions. We want you to feel pampered and confident and work with professional hair and makeup artists.

Professional hair/makeup gives that "extra" to your photos. If you opt for your own beauty regimen, we ask that you come with your hair and make-up prepared. Aileen will provide specific makeup application instructions to help you make the most of your photos. Our full hair/makeup station is always available free of charge for touch-ups and hair changes.

WHAT ABOUT GROOMING VENDORS?

Many of our clients come from out-of-state for their photo sessions. We work closely with select vendors to ensure that our clients are always VIPs. Whether you live locally or are visiting for your experience, please let us know what you need, and we'll point you in the best direction. Practical and pampered grooming helps make the most of your photo shoot and gives that something extra to each image, and to maintain strong and trusted relationships that honor excellent service and care, we only work with one vendor in any given category. If you are interested in being one of our vendors or a referral partner, please call or use the contact form.

HOW MANY PHOTOS DO YOU TAKE IN A TYPICAL PORTRAIT PHOTO SHOOT?

We generally shoot between 150 – 300 photos during a typical session. Portrait sessions are edited down to one to three dozen legacy images for your viewing (depending on shoot type, group size, and how you indicate you wish to use/display the images). 20-100 images will be edited for corporate/business branding sessions, which includes business exterior, interior, product, processes, and people (head shots and at-work).

DO I HAVE TO CHOOSE MY PRODUCTS / PACKAGES AT BOOKING?

Once you have had your portrait photo shoot and depending on the session, we use the proofing session to decide which photos you wish to process, how you want to display your favorite photos, and build your package from there. Depending on the type of shoot, you may choose the image(s) you want Aileen to edit before leaving the studio.

WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT TWO WEEKS FOR MY EDITED IMAGES?

After we cull the hundreds of images taken during a shoot, we will edit your session to remove blinks, clone heads from one image to another if necessary to create a great shot of everybody, as well as remove blemishes, and other distractions. Rather than take an automatic approach to processing, the highly skilled art applied to your images is built just for you and match the story you want to tell. This is highly skilled work and many hours are put into getting your photos looking fabulous, and we honor each photo as if it will be your very last. Retouching always includes spot, blemish, stray hair removal; tidy eyebrows, teeth whitening, color toning, and removing general distractions.

HOW LONG DOES A VIEWING / SELECTION SESSION LAST?

On average we find that an hour will be enough time for you to choose. If you know you are looking for several products and may require more time then please let us know when you book in. Please feel free to bring grandparents, parents, or friends along, too, if you would like a second opinion.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE BEFORE MY ORDER IS READY?

This will depend entirely on what you order. Headshots are delivered within five business days from selection. Wall products are generally back with us from the labs within ten working days to two weeks. If you are looking for a product for a special occasion, i.e., birthday/anniversary, then please do tell us. We always do our best to ensure your products are returned to you as soon as possible. When possible, we are happy to accommodate rush orders for surprise gifts.

CAN I ORDER MORE PHOTOS AT A LATER DATE, AT CHRISTMAS FOR EXAMPLE?

Absolutely. We strive to keep your photos on file for six months after your photo shoot. Our cameras produce enormous files and, thus, require vast data storage availability, but we will always aim to keep them for at least six months.

DO YOU SELL GIFT CARDS?

We do. We can provide you with a gift card that can either be used towards a sitting or products (collections or wall portraits). You decide what you would like to spend. You can purchase directly from us at the studio, call, or buy instantly online at www.aileen-wilson.com/store.

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS OR REFERRAL REWARDS?

We do! From the moment you complete your first session, you become part of our portraits family and are entitled to discounts off all future sessions and eligible for referral rewards.

HOW CAN I MAKE A BOOKING?

Please phone us at the studio or contact us at info@aileen-wilson.com or www.aileen-wilson.com/contact.

CAN I SCHEDULE A SESSION OUTSIDE OF NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS?

When possible, we do offer appointments outside our telephone hours or on Saturday. Plan and call early, as those times book months in advance. To ensure one weekend day with our families, we do not shoot on Sunday (no exceptions).
